Coercion seeks to convince leaders that resistance carries unbearable costs. Western governments must deliver systems in sufficient volume to matter, not merely announce them at summits. Ukraine must integrate those systems with training, maintenance, intelligence, and resilient command structures. The decisive advantage will not belong automatically to the side possessing the most advanced weapon. It may belong to the side that can replace losses, learn fastest, and keep its institutions functioning under pressure.

The information battle follows every explosion. Russian authorities may frame the strike as a precise attack on military infrastructure. Ukrainian officials will emphasize civilian deaths and the failure of international protection. Images and casualty figures will circulate before independent verification is possible, and both governments will have incentives to shape the first narrative. For investors and observers, this creates a familiar verification problem: provenance matters. A photograph without a location, timestamp, or corroborating evidence can move public opinion while proving very little.

The market consequences are likely to be narrower than the human and political consequences.
